Par 36

Policy

Terms of use

The agreement between you and Par 36 when you play, make an account or buy a membership. Last updated 6 October 2026.

Who we are

Par 36 is run from the UK. In these terms "we" and "us" means the operator of Par 36, and "you" means you, the player.

By playing, making an account or buying a membership you agree to these terms. The privacy policy explains how we handle your information, and cancellations and refunds explains how to cancel a membership and get your money back.

The game

Par 36 is free to play: a new nine-hole course every day, with one ranked round a day for each account. You do not need an account to play the daily round. We keep improving the game, so courses, rules, features and how they look will change over time. We aim to keep it running but cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults, and we may take it offline for maintenance.

Your account

  • An account is for one person. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
  • Use an email address you can receive mail at, so you can reset your password and we can reach you about a membership.
  • Your display name is public. It must be 3 to 20 characters. You can change it once at any time, then once every 7 days. It must not be offensive, pretend to be someone else, or include anyone's personal details. We may change or remove a name that breaks this.
  • You can stop playing at any time and delete your account from the account menu. That cancels any membership straight away, without a refund for the time left, so if you are due one under the refund policy, ask for it first.

Fair play

The leaderboards only mean something if everyone plays their own round. So you must not:

  • use a program, script or anyone else's help to choose or play your shots;
  • use more than one account to get extra ranked rounds;
  • take advantage of a fault in the game to change a score, or interfere with the service or other players.

If we have good reason to think a round breaks these rules we may remove it from the leaderboards, and we may suspend or close an account that keeps breaking them. If we do, we will tell you why.

Memberships

A membership adds extras to your account. Today it gives unlimited practice (without one you can start 3 past or random practice rounds a day) and the target range. It never gives an advantage in the ranked round. Live matches are open to every account at the moment; we may make them a member feature in future. The membership page shows what a membership includes before you buy.

  • Memberships are billed monthly or yearly, in advance, at the price shown before you pay.
  • Payment is taken by Stripe. A membership renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it.
  • You can cancel at any time from the membership page with Manage membership. You keep your membership until the end of the period you have paid for, and it is not renewed after that.
  • If a renewal payment fails, the membership's extras stop until the payment is put right.
  • If we change the price, we will tell you by email before it applies to you, and you can cancel before your next renewal.
  • If we stop offering something a membership includes, we will tell you, and you can cancel and get back what you paid for the rest of the current period.

You have a legal right to cancel a new membership within 14 days. How that works, and when you get money back, is set out in cancellations and refunds.

Our game and your results

The game, its code, artwork, course designs and text belong to us. You may share your results, share images and screenshots of your rounds, and post links to the site. You may not copy the game or its courses to run elsewhere.

Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses: Par 36 is for personal use.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in them takes away your legal rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to digital content and services that are as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the game changes. The current version is always on this page with the date it was last changed. If a change affects a membership you have already paid for, we will tell you before it applies, and you can cancel if you do not accept it.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
